Krista Nowlin Gessler began her career in the medical field in 2011 as a registered nurse. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor’s Degree. From that time she worked in the Intensive Care Unit as a staff nurse. In 2014 she obtained her Critical Care Registered Nurse Certificate from the American Academy of Critical Care Nursing. She later attended school to become a Nurse Practitioner at University of Alabama at Huntsville and graduated in 2016 and board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Krista joined Smyrna Pulmonary and Sleep Associates after graduating as nurse practitioner. Krista has spent most of her medical career in the ICU and enjoys focusing on the care of critical patients as well as those with various lung diseases and sleep disorders. She works as intensivist nurse practitioner at Stonecrest Medical Center as well as Tennova Harton and Shelbyville. She also works in Pulmonary and Sleep Clinic in our Smyrna location primarily.
