Tamekia Bougard began her career in the medical field in 2010 as a registered nurse. She graduated from Auburn University Montgomery with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2010. She then worked as a registered nurse until 2016 when she became a Nurse Practitioner. She obtained her Master’s degree in nursing from Middle Tennessee State University in 2016. She is certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She has worked in various areas in her career including working in the intensive care unit at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Tamekia joined Smyrna Pulmonary and Sleep Associates in September 2017. Her goal is to provide patient centered care while meeting the needs of the patient with various lung diseases or sleep disorders.
