Meet Our Sleep Team                                         

Prakash Patel, MD , FCCP, FAASM

Dr.Prakash Patel has received his medical school training from Government Medical College in Surat, India. He has been in the United States since 1998 and has received his internal medicine training from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN (1999-2002). He received his specialty training for pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine from The University of Florida in Gainesville, FL (2003-2006). He moved to Smyrna, TN in July 2007 and has staff privileges at StoneCrest Medical Center in Smynra, TN, Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN, VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN and Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He has been board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, critical care and sleep medicine. Dr Patel has been involved in medical research during his fellowship training and has published articles related to his specialities. He is involved in giving presentations on sleep disorders in local news papers and local news channels.

Warren Brent, RPSGT

Warren Brent has been with The Sleep Center since we opened in Januaray 2009. He has extensive experience in sleep medicine for more than 15 years. He is a registered sleep technician and is also the manager and technical director for the Sleep Center.  Our lab has grown quickly under the direction of Warren.  

Faith Lesniewicz, Office Manager

Faith joined Smyrna Pulmonary and Sleep Associates in February, 2008.  Faith is our office manager at the Smyrna location.  She has over 17 years experience in the medical field.  Her attention to detail helps the Smyrna office run smoothly. Faith is easy to talk to and makes our office a 'fun' place to be. She is a great office manager!

 Heather Scott, Medical Assistant

Heather has worked with Smyrna Pulmonary & Sleep Associates since 2009. She is the lead MA for Dr. Patel, assisting in clinic as well as handling patient messages and concerns. Heather is very friendly and great with multi tasking which helps our offices to remain efficient. Heather is our 'go to' person who is guranteed to get the job done.

Naomi Allen, CRT

Naomi Allen just recently joined the Sleep Team.  She is a certified respiratory therapist. She graduated from Volunteer State Community College in 1980 with a degree in respiratory therapy.  She worked as a respiratory therapist at Vanderbilt Medical Center for 17 years before beginning her work in the home care field.  She assists our CPAP patients in our offices to ensure proper use of their equipment.

Michelle Trotter, RPSGT

Michelle was the first polysomnographer to join The Sleep Team.  She was employed during the construction process and played a vital role in the opening of our sleep center. She is wonderful with our patients and really makes them feel at home during their stay.

Nikki Nagel, CMA

Nikki joined our team in 2010 and has been a certified medical assistant since 2004. She helps Dr. Patel care for our patients and conducts all pulmonary function testing.
